Pub Theology

You have an open invitation to come join the “Pub Theology” group that meets during the school year on Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm for about 75 minutes, in the Fellowship Hall on the lower floor of the church. During the summer the group usually meets for weekly (for the most part) dinner and/or drinks at local establishments.

As a group, we pick our next topic or book, and then plan a reading/discussion schedule from there. We tend to read and study a wide-ranging variety of genres including biography, social justice, fiction, philosophy, theology, and biblical study. This group provides an opportunity for some deep discussion about topics of our day. Please come join us for some important conversation!

If you are interested in joining us to read this book and are not yet receiving the Pub Theology emails, let Tom Ward  know and he can add your email address to the list and he can also answer any questions you may have.

INdividuals together

This is a social group at CUCC. The group is designed for members of our CUCC church family who live alone either full time, or part time, for any reason. The group’s goal is to provide monthly opportunities, based on input from group members, for fellowship, connecting with others, and fun.

If you’re interested in joining this group, or have any questions, please contact Linda Morgan, Faith Community Nurse.

CUCC Retiree’s Lunch Group

The CUCC Retiree’s Lunch Group meets monthly (3rd Tuesday of the month) at a different restaurant each month.  We generally meet at 11:30 a.m., unless we plan a field trip lunch.  This social group was designed for retirees, but anyone is welcome to join us as their schedule permits.  Transportation can always be provided.

If you’d like more information, please contact Peg Wade.

No Agenda Breakfast Group

Join us on the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. for a no-agenda, just-for-fun time to catch up with other CUCCers at Perkins Restaurant, 1214 W. University Avenue, Urbana. Everyone is welcome, with conversation topics ranging from politics to recipes to books to… well, whatever anyone wants to talk about that morning! While an RSVP isn’t required to attend, it does help to have an idea of how many to expect.

Contact Rocio Arroyave-Jamison, for more information or to let her know you want to come.

Men’s Breakfast Gathering

We’d like to invite you to this monthly breakfast gathering for those who identify as men in our church family! Folks meet on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 at Urbana Gardens, 810 W Killarney St, Urbana, IL 61801. Come join us for a good breakfast, fun conversation and fellowship, and a chance to get to know others in the church better!
