UPCOMING EVENTS

Winter Retreat to Tower Hill – join us for fun in the snow on the shores of Lake Michigan.  We’ll get energized for the semester ahead, and share stories, songs, and snacks in the semi-rustic cabins at Tower Hill Camp.  2 nights in Sawyer, Michigan, February 1st-3rd.
Queering Faith 2.0 – Bishop Yvette Flunder is coming to CU February 8th!  Thanks to the generous support of the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, Campus Ministry has invited Bishop Flunder to return to central Illinois and speak about the intersections of faith and LGBTQ+ identity and practice.  Bishop Flunder writes, “We all need community. When access to existing communities is not available, marginalized people must seek to develop community for and among themselves.” You might laugh, you might cry, you might be moved to shout, “Amen!”  Check out the event details on our Facebook page.  You don’t want to miss this!
Breakaway Trip to Memphis – Join us for a week of deep reflection, community service, and team-building at First Congregational Church in Memphis.  Through the Freedom Journey program, we will engage with social justice issues, visit the National Civil Rights Museum, and give back to the community around us.  We will also make time to grow in spirit, commune in faith, and scope out the best tourist spots in the Home of the Blues.  March 16th-23rd.  We need a hard count on this to reserve vehicles, so fill out the doodle poll to reserve your spot.

Manon Voice – Mark your calendars for this special Lenten worship at CUCC.  Manon Voice, rapper and spoken-word artist, poet, freelance writer, and social justice activist will be at CUCC during Sunday worship April 7th.  Check her out at https://vimeo.com/260421958.
As always, join other Campus Ministry lizards, leopards, and lima beans in the Campus Ministry office for Open House on Thursdays, 1-4 pm, and for dinner at Jubilee Cafe at CUCC on Mondays from 5-6:30 (CM meets up around 6.)
