Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry is housed in Community United Church of Christ at 805 South 6th Street, Champaign, Illinois

We are a group of students, undergrad and graduate,  from UIUC and Parkland.  The group provides a welcoming environment for students to explore questions of life and faith, grow as a person, grow as a community, spiritually embrace others, and experience fellowship.

Here’s what’s coming up for your Campus Ministry in the back half of the Spring Semester.
Breakaway! – Nine of your compatriots are headed to Memphis for spring break to work and learn with the First Congregational UCC–civil rights, history, culture, food, and some warm weather!  We’ll be back Sunday March 24th, and sharing our stories in worship at CUCC at 10:15.  Catch you all on the flip side.
5th Sunday Sunday School – Campus Ministry students will lead the little ones in a story and craft activity on March 30th.
Easter Eggs! – Come mix old tradition with new through traditional Ukranian wax-resist egg decorating after worship on April 7th.  Lunch will be provided.  Contact Blake or Ilsa if you need more info, and please indicate on the event page if you’re coming along, so we have enough victuals for everyone.
St. Peter’s Sausage Supper Volunteer Opportunity – help out our UCC neighbors and earn yourself dinner at the St. Peter’s Sausage Supper.  Last year we made gallon after gallon of mashed potatoes and gravy, and Andy served approximately 900 desserts.  The company is great and the leftovers are even better.  Saturday, April 13th, 3-7 pm.  Partial shifts available.  Tell Ilsa ASAP if you want a spot.
Manon Voice in church at CUCC for Palm sunday – Mark your calendars for this special Lenten worship at CUCC.  Manon Voice, rapper and spoken-word artist, poet, freelance writer, and social justice activist will be at CUCC during Sunday worship April 7th.  Check her out at
Staying in town for Easter? – Easter Sunday on April 21st at CUCC begins with brunch downstairs in Fellowship Hall.  Bring a dish to pass if you can, bring your own table setting if you can, if you can’t do those things, just bring yourself!  There’s always enough to go around.
Sunday Lunches – We have a volunteer to host Sunday Lunches from here to Easter!  Meet up with us at worship and enjoy lunch with Campus Ministry and a church member in their home afterwards.  Home-cooked meals and camaraderie.
Jubilee Cafe – as always, Campus Ministry continues to gather at Jubilee Cafe for dinner on Monday nights around 6 pm.  Free dinner, great company.
Thursday Open House – 1 pm to 4 pm on Thursdays at CUCC, hang out in the office and have some snacks.
