Mission and Outreach

Our mission is to respond to the needs of our local families as well as the needs of our national and global families. We are a congregation that strives to do our part to spread the love of God and to make a difference locally and around the world.

We are a 5 for 5 congregation giving to OCWM basic support and each of the following special mission offerings.

Special Mission Offerings

  1. One Great Hour of Sharing
  2. Strengthen the Church
  3. Neighbors in Need
  4. The Christmas Fund

Recent and ongoing mission activities include hunger relief projects, helping people without permanent addresses, and disaster aid.

CROP WALK

Each year CUCC participates in the local CROP WALK event.  Members ask for sponsorships and walk to raise money in support of local organizations that work to fight hunger.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERFAITH BUILDING PROJECT

CUCC participated in the first CU Habitat Interfaith Build in 2016-17.

MISSION OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

CUCC plans an adult mission trip each year, rotating through local, regional and national/international locations.  In 2018, CUCC will be participating in a Mission Trip to Chicago to participate in a variety of activities focused on LGBTQ homelessness and food insecurity.

DISASTER RELIEF KITS

CUCC collected items to complete 10 relief buckets to be used in Houston and other areas hit by hurricanes in fall 2017.

HATS AND GLOVES

CUCC donated new winter hats and gloves that were distributed at Jubilee Cafe to guests on December 18, 2017.
